The Ghost World Filament (Yūrei sekai no Firamento) is the fortieth chapter of the manga series Galaxy Express 999. The chapter was originally published in two parts, spanning two weeks, but is collected as one whole in the tankōbon release.
Summary[]
An energy cloud forms where the planet Filament used to be, and its inhabitants, not accepting their untimely fate, became spirits. When the 999 pases through the energy cloud, the ghosts disable the train and kidnap Tetsuro. One of the spirits wants her son to possess Tetsuro, so that he could travel to the destination and receive a mechanical body.
